Melbourne Guitar Lesson Pricing
Pricing Overview
The prices that guitar tutors charge vary tremendously. On one end of the spectrum, I once saw a guitar teacher in New Zealand only charging $15 an hour. On the other end of the spectrum, you'll find expert guitar teachers charging $200 US Dollars an hour and above. (As an example, at the time of writing this, guitar guru Ney Mello charges $200 USD per hour for a one-on-one consultation).
Generally, you'll find the better tutors charging more, and the less-experienced tutors charging less. But does this mean you should automatically choose the most expensive one? Maybe…but not necessarily. It all depends on your musical goals…
If all you want to do is learn a few chords and learn a few “camp-fire songs”, then you probably don't need to get lessons from a guitar teaching guru like Ney Mello! You may find the guy or gal charging $30 or $40 an hour will be perfectly adequate. They'll be able to show you a few basic chords and strumming patterns. They'll also be able to teach you a few easy songs. And this should be enough for you to reach your musical goal.
But What If You Want To Get Good?
If you have aspirations of becoming an advanced level guitarist, then I believe that you should get the best tutor that you can possibly afford. You need someone who understands what it takes to be able to play at an advanced or professional level. And of course, they need to be able to help YOU develop into an advanced guitarist. So this means that you need a tutor who is both a good player and a great teacher. And they usually don't come cheap.

Three Ways That You Can Get Discounts On The Above Price…

Way #3: Anti-Vampire Discount
Some of my past students in New Zealand used to practice a lot. I mean a LOT. I don't think they got any sun at all! They kind of reminded me of the stereotypical vampires that you see on TV. You know the ones. Incredibly white and pasty looking. So that's where the anti-vampire discount comes into play…
If you can come for your lesson sometime between 10am and 4pm, I will give you a discount of 37.50% off the normal price of $80. By having to come to lessons while the sun is still out, you will prove to me that you are not a vampire. And that's got to be worth a discount!

One Guitar Mastery Lesson (Anti-Vampire): $50
This includes…
- One 45-minute lesson 1-on-1 guitar lesson.
- All the necessary lesson preparation (done in my own time).
- All the necessary lesson planning (done in my own time).
IMPORTANT: To be eligible for the anti-vampire discount you have to meet the following two simple criteria…
- You must come for your lesson on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
- You must have your lesson sometime between 10am and 4pm.
