Can YOU Effectively Learn Guitar In Melbourne From Me?

Achieve Your Musical DreamsI hope you can forgive me for being blunt…but I don't want to teach guitar to everyone. Unlike a lot of other guitar teachers who say that they teach "all styles, all ages and all levels"…I don't do this…

Why?

There is one major reason…

It's simply not possible to do this effectively!

I don't believe it is possible to be everything to everyone.

For example, let's say that you had a medical problem with your heart. Would you rather go to see a heart specialist or someone who said they helped people with heart, brain, hand, leg and colon problems?

It's obvious.

You would go to the person who specialised in the area that you need help with. You need someone who has focused their training on the exact thing you need help with. Why shouldn't this be the same with your musical goals?

How am I different?

Rather than trying to take on just anyone as a student, I choose carefully who I decide to take on my teaching roster. And there are two big reasons for this…

  • It helps me only take on new students who I know will learn effectively from me. I know from past experience what type of people get good results from my teaching. Because I know my own strengths and weaknesses as a teacher, I'm careful to only take on people who will respond well to my specific teaching approach.
  • It allows me to only teach people that I will love teaching. Guitar teaching is a passion of mine. I don't want to diminish that passion by teaching people who will be a pain in the arse to teach. Sure…I would make more money taking on anyone and everyone. But I feel I would lose my enthusiasm. And who wants to learn guitar from someone who isn't passionate about teaching?

Is my guitar teaching suitable for you?

Please ask yourself the following questions…

  • Have you played electric guitar for at least 6 months?
  • Are you 18 years old or older?
  • Are you willing practice on a daily basis for at least 45 minutes a day?
  • Are you passionate about music and electric guitar?
  • Are you serious about making substantial improvements to your playing?
  • Are you willing to do your best?
  • Do you want to make BIG improvements to your technique, music theory knowledge, improvisation, ear training, musicianship and creativity?
  • Are you interested in learning one or more of the following styles of electric guitar playing…
    • Jazz
    • Rock
    • Blues
    • Metal

[I have experimented with quite a few styles other than these. But I've spent the bulk of my teaching and practice time on jazz, rock, blues and metal. And because of that, these are the styles of music I feel that I can teach most effectively].

If you answered "YES!" to all the questions then you are the sort of person that I would like to help. You are also the sort of person who will most likely get great results from my guitar teaching.

Now before we move on, I need to get a couple of things 100% clear…

I don't teach complete beginners…

My teaching is focused on people who already know some of the basics. I specialise in helping advanced-beginners and intermediate level players work towards an advanced/professional level of electric guitar playing.

If all you want to do is learn cover tunes, then I am not the teacher for you…

Sure learning songs by your favorite bands and guitarists is important. But that's only one aspect of mastering a musical instrument. To become an excellent electric guitarist you will also need to learn many other things.
